Artist. Maker. Gamer.
Max Wanerstrand is a multidisciplinary artist whose work lives at the intersection of craftsmanship and imagination. Whether shaping molten metal, throwing clay on the wheel, or meticulously painting tabletop miniatures, Max brings a precise, tactile sensibility to everything he creates.
Graduating in June 2025 with a BA in Art from the University of Washington, Max has focused his studies on ceramics and metalwork, developing a body of work that bridges traditional techniques with modern narrative design. His pieces often explore the boundaries between functional art and storytelling ...drawing inspiration from nature, mythology, and the immersive worlds of tabletop gaming.
Max is also an avid gamer, especially in the realms of Warhammer, Dungeons & Dragons, and other miniature-heavy tabletop systems. His passion for the hobby doesn’t stop at the table ...he’s known for creating game-ready miniatures and terrain that elevate gameplay to an art form. Each painted figure tells a story. Each handmade object invites touch and play.
He currently lives on an island in Puget Sound, where he creates from a home studio nestled among the evergreens — a quiet retreat that fuels his creative spirit and gives him space to experiment, build, and play.
